It was not too long ago that flat screen televisions started being sold to consumers throughout the world. Prices for flat screen televisions continued to drop and drop which made them affordable. The first models of flat screen televisions did not come with high definition because they were plasmas. As the price of plasma televisions began to go down, a new type of television called an LCD came out. Several years ago, if you wanted a flat screen TV your only real choice was plasma. There where some LCD flat screen TV around but not very many. When you went into your local electronics store, you would typically see row after row of plasma's. If you did see a LCD flat screen TV, it was probably much smaller than the plasma as the technology just wan't there to make them as big.

Now in 2008 though, things have changed considerably. I just went to my local Costo and what I found was almost the opposite of what it was several years ago.
